Israeli Far-Right Ministers Demand Halting Gaza Aid
(MENAFN) Far-right Israeli ministers have renewed calls to stop the flow of limited humanitarian assistance into the besieged Gaza Strip.
Their demands are intended to intensify pressure on Palestinians, with some advocating measures to "crush" them, induce starvation, and terminate ongoing ceasefire discussions.
This escalation followed the death of five Israeli soldiers in a Hamas ambush in the northern region of Gaza.
In response, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to immediately withdraw the Israeli delegation from the ceasefire negotiations taking place in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
“There is no need to negotiate" with those who kill Israeli soldiers, Ben-Gvir stated on his X account. The hardline minister went further, calling for "a total siege, a military crushing, encouraging immigration and settlements.”
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich echoed Ben-Gvir's sentiments on X, demanding that Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir "immediately halt" the delivery of humanitarian assistance into Gaza.
According to the Israeli army, five soldiers were killed and 14 others injured during clashes in northern Gaza on Monday.
Since October 2023, nearly 57,600 Palestinians—predominantly women and children—have been killed in the enclave by Israeli military operations.
The sustained assaults have made life in Gaza nearly impossible, causing severe food shortages and widespread illness.
