Muslim cemetery in Australia gets vandalized after Sydney shooting
Police confirmed that they received reports of animal remains at the entrance to the cemetery on Richardson Road. “Officers attended and found several pig heads at the scene. Police immediately commenced an investigation into the incident,” authorities said, adding that “The pig heads have since been removed and disposed of appropriately,” while investigations continue.
The vandalism follows a deadly attack at Bondi Beach on Sunday evening, when two unidentified shooters—a 50-year-old man and his 24-year-old son—opened fire, killing 15 people and injuring 42 others, who were hospitalized for treatment. Police reported that one of the shooters was killed and the other critically wounded, labeling the attack a “terrorist act.”
Local authorities are treating the cemetery incident as a separate investigation, highlighting growing concerns over hate-motivated actions targeting minority communities in the wake of violent events.
