Israeli Strikes Hit Residential Areas in Beirut, Cause Casualties

(MENAFN) Early Wednesday, Israeli airstrikes struck residential areas in central Beirut, leaving six people dead and 24 others wounded, as stated by reports.

According to Lebanon’s Emergency Operations Center, the initial casualties came from two separate strikes on apartment buildings in the Zoqaq al-Blat and Basta al-Fawqa neighborhoods.

Rescue teams recovered human remains at the sites, with authorities planning to confirm victims’ identities through DNA testing.

Additional strikes reportedly hit Beirut’s southern suburbs, causing further damage, according to reports from local correspondents.

The Israeli military had previously issued evacuation orders on Tuesday for residents of Tyre and nearby Palestinian refugee camps, warning that it would target locations alleged to be used by the Hezbollah group.
